A Sweet Beginning, Chasing Dreams with AP
On November 8, the Dewey Institute classroom hosted a special session—an AP course presentation by Ms. Katelyn Evering! Katelyn carefully prepared for the session, offering a detailed overview of AP courses, including subject offerings, enrollment procedures, unique features, and benefits. Using beautiful and engaging visuals she created with AI, she provided students with a clear and compelling introduction to AP.
So, what exactly is an AP course? AP (Advanced Placement) courses are college-level courses designed for high school students, covering a range of subjects to help them experience college-level content in advance. During her presentation, Katelyn explained the various advantages of taking AP courses and exams. Not only can they boost competitiveness in college applications, but they also offer the chance to earn college credits upon entry, reducing future course loads. She pointed out that AP courses and exams allow students to experience college courses early, laying a solid foundation for their academic future.
Katelyn’s presentation was packed with valuable information yet remained lighthearted. She thoughtfully brought a big bag of candy to share with the students, adding a touch of joy to the classroom atmosphere. In just 15 minutes, her presentation was not only highly informative but also filled with warm interactions, allowing everyone to appreciate the value of AP courses in a relaxed setting.
Shortly after Katelyn’s presentation, some students eagerly came forward to inquire about and register for AP courses and exams. We’re thrilled to see such enthusiasm and commitment to academic pursuits. We believe that through AP coursework, students will be even better prepared for their future college experiences!
Thank you to Katelyn for her thoughtful presentation and sweet treats, and we look forward to seeing more students embark on the AP journey. Let’s work together toward higher academic goals!
